I’m delighted to share that Ian Dowling, the Liberal Democrat candidate for the former Pudsey seat in the last election, has decided to back my run to become the Labour MP for Leeds North West.
Leeds North West is a brand new constituency that takes in Horsforth, Guiseley and Rawdon (half of the Pudsey seat Ian stood in) plus Otley, Yeadon, Adel and Wharfedale.
I’m hugely grateful to Ian for highlighting the political reality here—that this is a straight two-horse race between Labour and the Tories—and for appealing to Liberal Democrats to support me.
It would be the honour of my life to represent Leeds North West, the constituency where I was born and raised, and I’m determined to win support from as many people as possible, regardless of whether they’ve voted Labour in the past.
